The Last Samurai
Tom cruise looked like hell. heck he looked like he'd been dragged through world war one tied to the legs of two wild horses and while being dragged, encounters a hell of alot of mud and shit.well the storyline was entertaining enough if not a little too fantastic. but the blood spraying in beautiful arc across the screen in slo-mo was too good to miss. so good some went to watch it again. not me though. i only went coz cheaper by the dozen was full

KAL HO NA HO
this is shah rukh khan doing what he does best. a tragic role full of tears. Die hard fans will have fallen in love with this movie. schmaltz. the storyline was well .. hmm lacking. preity zinta did a good job but her chemistry on screen with saif ali and srk was more of a brotherly-sisterly vibe. maybe they should have gotten rani Mukherjee to do it. to the scriptwriter an producers credit they tried to keep the real and the story as everyday as possible and not fantastic like K3G or K2H2 but he should have stuck to that kinda stuff i think. wanna keep it crappy keep it crappy all the way. this "real" movie couldnt help but fall into the hindi movie pit with the rest of the gumswizzer movies. oh and other than the rather meaninful theme song and the sad version of it, the songs were bullsh**. i went down to geta drink and chips in one of them and when i came up the painful stuff was not done.

L.O.C KARGIL
this was a good movie. they kept it minimal with the songs. 2 of them i think. but as the first was 7 minutes and the 2nd was 13 minutes they reached the 20-30 minute quota of hindi movie songs. but at least the songs had no strange dance sequences and rightfully so. as this war film was true to the Kargil war. thye kept it was authentic as possible and concentrated on the war with just one or two intervals for the guys to remember their wives and things like that. as hindi movies go.. scaryily good. :D the cast is star studded with sanjay dutt, saif ali, monish bhel, akshay khana, rani muhkerjee , ashutosh rana , raveena tandon, kareena kapoor, mahima chaudhry,, OH GOD the list goes on and on
but needless to say they did a great job. the reppaly of the Krgil war and their recapture of Tololing , Khallubra, Tiger Hill and the points was as real as could be.

CHAMELI
a very different and captivating storyline that keeps you guessing what happens next. and being surprised. and thats quite something from an industry whose moves are so predictable people are practically saying the dialogues along with the actors. i know i always am. the story is that of a businessman ( Rahul Bose : Mr and Mrs Iyer) whose car breaks down in the red Light district as he drives home during the monsoons. he meets a prostitute whose name is Chameli
(kareena Kapoor) and then starts the adventure of a lifetime. the interesting part is that it all takes place on that one night. in the rains in mumbai. as he stands there waiting for help he meets a motley crew. people so real right in the heart of the red light district he realises its not all about sex and the seedy underbelly of mumbai does have some real people walking around in it. just to name one or two are the transvesite ( mehbooba) and his/her lover a 19 yr old slasher boy who has run away from his wealthy businessman father to be with the love of his life. then there the AIDS carrier who hits on all the pimps to sell their girls to him ...u watch and see

PETER PAN
a good movie. this rivals the movie HOOK with robin williams. while that was entertaining it had nothing in common with the book except the names Peter Pan , Hook, crocodile and Neverland. this however keeps strictly to the classic starting from peter losing his shadow to the end where hook dies.... straying only to spice it up, Hollywood style. with a little pre teen romance between 13 yr olds. abit gross seeing Peter ( jeremy Sumpter ) heating the screen up with a full on lip lock with Wendy ( dunnowho) and their dances in the woods surrounded by fairies. Hook does the best job though, stealing the spotlight with his crazy manical rambling in the end trying to saty alive while thinking happy thoughts with the children chanting " OLD ALONE DONE FOR " around him. only to be swallowed by a croc. poor chap.
